Our client, a leading UK Wealth & Asset Manager, is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Product Governance professional to lead the execution of the Product Governance framework across the full suite of wealth products and services. Initially a 12 month contract.
Ensure that the product governance framework is maintained in compliance with relevant regulations, and suitable to intelligently manage risks and comply with all relevant regulations while minimising bureaucracy.
Work closely with product and service owners, and senior leaders in the first‑line, second‑line and the broader ACD teams, to ensure that each product/service aligns with governance frameworks, ensuring that all products and services offered by the firm are appropriately governed and in compliance with our regulatory obligations.
Ensure processes are in place for the regular review throughout the lifecycle of each product/service, including trigger events to ensure each product/service remains fit for purpose and is not leading to poor customer outcomes.
Provide support and leadership for the Product & Pricing Committee, document and maintain terms of reference, and ensure it is managed effectively and efficiently.
Take ownership of the firm’s monitoring of Consumer Duty outcomes; work with Compliance colleagues to enhance the approach to monitoring outcomes and deliver reporting of such to senior leadership and boards, including drafting the annual Consumer Duty Board Report.
Support colleagues in the customer‑facing and customer support teams to update policies and processes in respect of the fair treatment of vulnerable customers.
Support the product and service owners in conducting annual product reviews, target market reviews and fair value assessments to ensure products and services remain suitable for the end investors, ensuring good customer outcomes.
Keep abreast of regulatory developments and industry trends and assess the impact to Handelsbanken Wealth’s product governance framework.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience establishing governance frameworks in the wealth or investment management industry, or extensive experience in a product, governance or compliance role within the wealth or investment management industry, with a strong working knowledge of investment vehicles, personal banking investor types and the products/services offered by Wealth Managers in the UK.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, work effectively and build relationships at all levels.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices and governance obligations in respect of its products and services including PROD, Consumer Duty, MiFID, COBS, ICOBS, COLL, and AIFMD.
- Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, and the ability to work in partnership with second‑line functions.
- Comfort presenting technical information to senior audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative and team‑oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently, work under pressure, prioritise work and work with competing deadlines.
