An exceptional opportunity has arisen within this prestigious global asset manager for an Assistant Portfolio Manager to join their International Equities Team. Working directly with the Investment team, you will have responsibility for producing high quality investment research and analysis across specific industry/sectors and countries.
The ideal candidate will be highly driven, analytical, with excellent client facing skills, and hold a genuine passion for investments. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting equity research and analytical studies for the International Equity team.
- Producing high-quality country, industry and stock investment research (including ESG factors).
- Translating research into contributing towards investment decisions that are appropriate to each product type.
- Active contribution to the decision-making process of fund allocation and investment strategy resulting in improving fund performance.
- Establishing client and consultant relationships for nominated clients, by being responsive to all requirements.
- Supporting the Company’s client service and marketing operations by assisting in preparation work and presentations.
- Working with Client Services in responding to RFPs and Consultant information requests.
- Producing monthly and ad-hoc investment reports and communications to clients and consultants.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 2 years relevant investment research experience.
- High achiever – naturally self‑motivated; bright, driven with an energetic approach.
- Excellent academic background and mathematical capability.
- CFA Level 1 or equivalent.
- Experience of using Datastream, Reuters and Bloomberg information systems.
- Knowledge of relevant investment valuation techniques.
- Strong research and analytical capability.
- Knowledge of statistical tools and techniques.
- Excellent presentation skills, both written and oral; high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment & possess well developed interpersonal skills.
- Needs to assimilate information quickly; intellectually curious.
