About the role

This role supports individuals and families experiencing complex challenges by delivering tailored casework services. You will assess needs, develop and review case plans, and provide practical and therapeutic support to help service users achieve their goals. Working within the Derby Aboriginal Short Stay Accommodation service, you’ll connect clients with appropriate supports, advocate on their behalf, and respond to safety concerns in line with policies and best practice. You’ll also contribute to intake processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and a collaborative team environment. We have 2 permanent, full time positions available.

About you

You’re a compassionate and resilient professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is motivated by making a genuine difference in people’s lives. You’re confident working with diverse communities and can balance empathy with sound judgement in complex situations. In addition, you will also possess:

  • Relevant qualification in community services, social work or a related field
  • This is a Section 50D position under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA). Being Aboriginal is a genuine occupational requirement.
  • Experience in case management and delivering evidence-based interventions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust
  • Experience working with individuals facing complex or high‑risk circumstances
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Understanding of cultural diversity, particularly Aboriginal communities (highly regarded)
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
  • Current Working With Children Check
