What you’ll do
As a Digital Operations Analyst at Mercury, you’ll be the hands‑on go‑to person keeping our internal systems, devices and day‑to‑day IT running smoothly.
Working alongside our Digital Operations Team Lead, you’ll support and improve the tools our people rely on, resolve technical issues, and get stuck into a real variety of projects across the Microsoft stack.
This is a genuine jack‑of‑all‑trades role with brilliant exposure – no two days look the same.
You’ll broaden your skills across technologies you may not have touched before, including the Power Platform, Dynamics 365 and Azure, with plenty of scope to grow.
You’ll be involved in
- Providing prompt, friendly IT support to colleagues – resolving day‑to‑day technical issues and help desk tickets across a wide range of company systems.
- Administering Microsoft 365 and related services, including user account management, access control and the new starter / leaver process.
- Hands‑on hardware support – the physical repair and maintenance of laptops (memory, batteries, cleaning and refurbishment) and rolling out replacement kit.
- Supporting the maintenance of our network infrastructure, hardware and office equipment.
- Helping keep our systems secure by supporting cybersecurity protocols, access controls and good data practice.
- Assisting with system changes and improvements, following change management good practice.
- Getting involved in projects – recent examples include migrating our community platform and rolling out a new password management solution.
- Supporting our journey towards ISO accreditation alongside Risk & Compliance and Process Improvement colleagues, and helping ensure we meet standards such as GDPR.
- What we’re looking for
We’re open‑minded on background, but you’ll likely have around a 2 years experience in a hands‑on IT, service desk or support role – ideally somewhere you’ve been the all‑rounder getting involved in a bit of everything.
- We’re looking for someone who has
- Confidence with laptop and hardware repair – swapping memory and batteries, refurbishing and rolling out devices – as a genuine strength.
- Good all‑round IT knowledge across a range of technologies and systems.
- A switched‑on, personable manner and the confidence to challenge requests when needed.
- Strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritise, and a calm approach when things get busy.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A genuine appetite to learn – we’ll help you fill any gaps.
- Exposure to Microsoft Intune and device management.
- Any experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI) or Dynamics 365 first‑party apps.
- Any exposure to Azure.
- Experience supporting IT projects from planning through to delivery.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications – or an interest in working towards them (we’ll support and pay for these).
