Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to work on a major, high-profile infrastructure project where you can take genuine commercial responsibility? We're recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established project team delivering a significant civil engineering scheme in the Tebay area of Cumbria. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term project security, a strong benefits package and the chance to work alongside an experienced commercial and operational team on a complex infrastructure programme.
The Role
- Support the commercial management of the project from delivery through to completion, helping to maintain strong financial performance while managing contractual risk and maximising value.
- Commercial management of contracts and individual work packages.
- Preparing valuations, applications for payment and commercial reports.
- Monitoring project costs and producing accurate forecasts.
- Managing measurements, valuations and project cash flow.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Supporting the preparation and management of contractual claims.
- Working closely with operational and project management teams.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
- Helping ensure project margins and commercial objectives are achieved.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or transportation environments.
- Previous experience working in a commercial Quantity Surveying position.
- A construction-related degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience managing costs, valuations, forecasts and commercial reporting.
- Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Confidence communicating with project teams, clients and subcontractors.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The ability to work predominantly from the project site in Tebay.
- Experience on major highways, infrastructure or civil engineering projects would be particularly advantageous.

- £60,000–£65,000 basic salary.
