The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Droitwich. The Role

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections throughout the manufacturing process, recording inspection results, identifying non-conformances and working closely with production teams to resolve quality issues. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection & Testing
    • Read, interpret and inspect components against engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
    • Carry out dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs and FARO equipment.
    • Inspect incoming materials, work in progress and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Record inspection results and report any non-conformances.
    • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Quality Documentation
    • Complete and maintain inspection records, non-conformance reports and quality documentation.
    • Assist with updating inspection procedures and quality documentation.
    • Support calibration activities where required.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Recommend improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and company procedures.
    • Assist with internal and external quality audits.
    • Promote safe working practices and report any health and safety concerns.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong experience interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T (essential).
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs and FARO arms.
  • Good understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience completing inspection reports and non-conformance documentation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.

Desirable Experience

  • Welding inspection knowledge or experience (advantageous but not essential).
  • Experience with HVAC products or control systems.
  • Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 9001).
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Essential Requirements

  • UK Citizen.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and own transport.
  • Able to work 100% onsite at the Droitwich facility.
