We're recruiting for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join a well-established international engineering and manufacturing business operating within highly regulated industrial sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong supplier quality, auditing, and manufacturing experience who enjoys working closely with suppliers, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the highest quality standards across the supply chain. The role will involve regular UK travel and occasional European travel to supplier sites.
The Role
- You'll be responsible for supporting and developing supplier performance across quality, compliance, and operational capability.
- Working closely with procurement, engineering, and production teams, you'll help ensure suppliers consistently meet technical, regulatory, and commercial expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting supplier audits, assessments, and qualification activities
- Supporting supplier onboarding and approval processes
- Driving corrective actions, root cause analysis, and supplier improvement plans
- Reviewing technical and quality documentation
- Supporting new product/component validation processes
- Monitoring supplier KPIs, scorecards, and risk profiles
- Promoting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing best practice
- Ensuring compliance with relevant quality and pressure equipment standards
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience within Supplier Quality Engineering in a manufacturing or engineered products environment
- Strong knowledge of supplier auditing and quality systems
- Experience with ISO 9001 and regulated manufacturing standards
- Understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes
- Experience using structured quality tools such as 8D, PPAP, APQP, or FMEA
- Ability to work cross-functionally with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable with regular travel to supplier sites
Desirable
- Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification
- Experience within HVAC, pressure systems, fabrication, or heavy engineering environments
- Knowledge of PED and welding quality requirements
- Engineering or manufacturing-related qualifications
