An established façade contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to manage façade installation works on a major education-sector project in Southampton, delivered for a Tier 1 main contractor. This role requires a hands-on, experienced Site Manager who is comfortable managing live façade works on site and taking ownership of day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of façade and cladding installation works
- Supervision and coordination of labour and specialist subcontractors
- Managing quality inspections, ITPs and snagging close-out
- Health & Safety management including RAMS, inductions and toolbox talks
- Producing accurate site and progress reports using digital systems
- Managing materials, deliveries, plant and access equipment
- Liaison with the Project Manager and main contractor on a daily basis
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience managing façade or cladding installation works
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Site Manager role
- CSCS Gold or Black Card
- SMSTS
- Strong understanding of construction and façade drawings
- Confident using digital reporting tools (tablet, Excel, project platforms)
- Full UK driving licence
This role is not suitable for:
- Junior Site Managers or those seeking their first Site Manager role
- Candidates without façade or cladding project experience
- Site Managers who are not comfortable with digital reporting
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Curtain walling or structural glazing background
- First Aid at Work
- IPAF / PASMA
- Experience on Tier 1 contractor projects
