We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Droitwich. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a quality-focused manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet customer specifications and industry standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections throughout the manufacturing process, recording inspection results, identifying non-conformances and working closely with production teams to resolve quality issues. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection & Testing
- Read, interpret and inspect components against engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Carry out dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs and FARO equipment.
- Inspect incoming materials, work in progress and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Record inspection results and report any non-conformances.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Quality Documentation
- Complete and maintain inspection records, non-conformance reports and quality documentation.
- Assist with updating inspection procedures and quality documentation.
- Support calibration activities where required.
- Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recommend improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and company procedures.
- Assist with internal and external quality audits.
- Promote safe working practices and report any health and safety concerns.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong experience interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T (essential).
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs and FARO arms.
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience completing inspection reports and non-conformance documentation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Experience
- Welding inspection knowledge or experience (advantageous but not essential).
- Experience with HVAC products or control systems.
- Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 9001).
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Essential Requirements
- UK Citizen.
- Full, clean UK driving licence and own transport.
- Able to work 100% onsite at the Droitwich facility.
