An established provider of electrical engineering services is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to support continued growth across the UK and Ireland.
Operating within the medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure market, the business delivers a wide range of services including commissioning, maintenance, asset management, operations support, network upgrades and lifecycle solutions for utility, industrial and infrastructure customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales or business development professional with a background in electrical engineering, power systems or utility infrastructure to play a key role in driving business growth.
The Role
Reporting into the National Sales Manager, you will take ownership of a designated territory, developing both new and existing customer relationships while identifying opportunities to grow revenue and profitability.
You'll work closely with customers across the utilities, distribution network, industrial and infrastructure sectors, promoting a range of engineering services and technical solutions.
The role combines business development, key account management and commercial leadership, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed sales and profitability targets within your territory.
- Develop and implement account plans for existing and prospective customers.
- Generate new business opportunities and secure new customer relationships.
- Maintain and develop existing customer accounts.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of proposals, quotations and tender submissions.
- Collaborate with operational, project and technical teams to ensure excellent customer delivery.
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements and competitor activity.
- Maintain accurate records and sales forecasts using CRM systems.
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline activity and business performance.

- Understanding of electrical infrastructure, engineering services or related industries.
- Full UK driving licence.

- Experience working with utilities, DNOs, ICPs, EPC contractors or industrial customers.
- HNC/HND, degree or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline.
- Experience of solution-based selling within a technical environment.
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience.
