Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of major projects across the UK and Europe, we are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Building Services contractor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business delivering complex Mechanical and Electrical projects across sectors including Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare, Logistics and Energy.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for projects from handover through to final account, ensuring strong financial performance and effective contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs from handover through to final account settlement.
  • Lead procurement of specialist subcontract packages.
  • Produce and manage monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Monitor project cashflow, forecasts and commercial performance.
  • Manage variations, change control and commercial negotiations.
  • Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment.
  • Review payment certificates and pay less notices.
  • Maintain risk and opportunity registers.
  • Support supply chain management and subcontractor assessments.
  • Attend and lead commercial meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior commercial leadership.
  • Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons learned processes.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the Building Services, M&E or Construction sectors.
  • Strong understanding of commercial management on mechanical and electrical projects.
  • Experience managing subcontractor procurement and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts.
  • Strong contractual awareness and understanding of construction contracts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
