Electrical Installation Engineer Location: [St Helens] Salary: £25,000 – £32,000 per year + Performance Bonuses Are you looking to advance your career in the electrical industry? As an Electrical Installation Engineer , you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team committed to shaping the future of energy. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Installation: Execute manufacturing tasks as per the scope provided by the technical team. Install LV substation distribution and substation control systems. Perform electrical and mechanical installations. Assembly & Wiring: Assemble VT Chambers, VT fuse boxes, protection and control panels. Layout internal control cabinets, including relays, meters, and connectors. Complete internal electrical wiring and assemble P&C panels onto switchgear. Testing & Inspection: Conduct PDI inspections and functional testing of switchgear. Test current transformers (CTs) and voltage transformers (VTs). General Operations Support: Assist with day-to-day operations of the production area. Skills & Qualifications Essential: IT skills: Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Desirable: Experience in the electrical industry. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical/wiring diagrams. Education/Qualifications: NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Installation) or equivalent. Preferred Certifications: 18th Edition Electrical Installation. Experience working with medium voltage switchgear, auxiliary transformers, voltage transformers, current transformers, control panels, and LV installations. Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM Overtime available at enhanced rates: Sundays: 2x pay Other days: 1.5x pay Benefits Financial Perks: Performance bonus (10% of monthly salary for excellent attendance and housekeeping).
