An established and growing building services contractor is seeking an experienced Document Controller to join its delivery team in Wolverhampton. Operating across major industrial, commercial, healthcare, logistics, pharmaceutical and data centre projects, this business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality M&E solutions across the UK and Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised Document Controller who thrives in fast-paced project environments and enjoys taking ownership of technical information management from project setup through to final handover.
The RoleYou will be responsible for managing all project documentation within the Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring drawings, technical submissions, RFIs and project records are accurately controlled, distributed and archived in line with company and project standards.
Working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and consultants, you'll play a key role in maintaining document accuracy, compliance and efficient information flow across live construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain the project Common Data Environment (CDE)
- Control the distribution, revision and archiving of technical documentation
- Ensure only current approved drawings and documents are issued to site teams
- Produce and manage transmittals for subcontractors, consultants and clients
- Monitor and track RFIs, technical submissions and approval workflows
- Review documentation for compliance with naming conventions and metadata standards
- Coordinate subcontractor as-built information and final project handover documentation
- Support project teams with document control procedures and software usage
- Maintain fully auditable project records in line with ISO 19650 standards
- 3-5 years experience as a Document Controller within construction, building services or civil engineering
- Strong experience using CDE platforms such as Viewpoint, Procore, BIM 360, Aconex or Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Excellent understanding of document revision control and information management processes
- Knowledge of UK BIM Framework and ISO 19650 naming conventions
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders across live projects
