Im working with a leading engineering business thats looking to appoint anArea Sales Manager to cover the East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded sales professional with strong knowledge of valves or flow control equipment to join a respected name in the sector.
About the Role
This is a customer-facing position that combines technical expertise with proactive sales development. Youll take full ownership of the East Midlands territory, managing established accounts while driving new business opportunities.
You will:
- Provide technical sales support and expert advice on valve systems, including isolation, control, and safety solutions.
- Maintain and strengthen long-term client relationships across all levels.
- Develop new business through solution-based selling and strategic territory management.
- Prepare accurate, detailed quotations and follow up to successfully convert enquiries.
- Collaborate with internal engineers and commercial teams to deliver professional customer responses.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to shape local sales strategy.
- Promote approved service partners and support growth across the UK network.
- Achieve agreed targets and report regularly on performance.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a technically confident salesperson with experience invalve ,flow control , orindustrial equipment sales. Youll bring both commercial acumen and a hands-on, problem-solving mindset to the role.
- Background in engineering or industrial equipment sales.
- Strong knowledge of valves and flow control systems (e.g. isolation, control, safety).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
- Highly organised with strong territory management and business planning skills.
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
- Professional, persistent, and relationship-oriented approach.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
