We are currently recruiting for experienced Acoustic Tilers to join our client’s team working onsite at Devonport Dockyard. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out acoustic tiling activities safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, supporting project delivery in line with company procedures and client requirements.

Please note: This role requires Security Clearance (SC), which must be obtained prior to starting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out acoustic tiling duties in line with project specifications, training, and site safety standards
  • Follow all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and complete POWRA assessments before commencing work
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn and maintain a safe working environment at all times
  • Adhere to company procedures, emergency instructions, and “T Card” processes
  • Safely operate hand tools and specialist mechanical equipment, including vacuum systems and mixers
  • Conduct pre-use equipment inspections and report any defects promptly
  • Minimise material wastage and ensure efficient use of resources
  • Comply with QA/QC procedures and DefStan requirements, including accurate recording of materials and batch numbers
  • Monitor and support environmental controls and readings in line with project requirements
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure safe management of hoses and equipment
  • Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Support and guide less experienced operatives when required
  • Report issues, delays, or safety concerns to the Painting Supervisor
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in acoustic tiling
  • Defence Standard 08-121 Issue 3 Method 2 Acoustic Tiling certification preferred (requalification training can be provided)
  • Strong understanding of health and safety practices within a site-based environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, procedures, and method statements
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to workload and operational requirements
Pay Rates
  • Basic Rate £15.24 – £16.87 per hour
  • Monday to Friday | 07:30 – 16:00 | 38 hours per week
  • Overtime 1 (OT1) £19.81 – £21.93 per hour applies to hours worked over standard weekday hours and all hours worked on Saturdays
  • Overtime 2 (OT2) £24.39 – £26.99 per hour for all hours worked on Sundays
  • Lodge Allowance £50.65 per day lodge allowance available for applicable candidates with over 1 hour travel to site.
Additional Benefits
  • Potential discretionary bonus of up to £1 per hour for productivity, quality, and performance
