We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive service team at an Independent Service Centre. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their vehicle service needs are met efficiently and courteously. This role involves managing customer interactions, providing technical advice, and promoting additional services to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and establish a positive rapport upon their arrival.
- Listen carefully to customers' vehicle concerns and accurately record service requests.
- Provide clear explanations of required repairs or maintenance, leveraging mechanical knowledge to inform customers effectively.
- Upsell additional services or products that meet the customer's needs, enhancing their experience while increasing revenue.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services and keep customers informed of progress.
- Maintain organised records of service orders, customer interactions, and sales activities.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Experience
- Proven experience in a customer service role within the automotive industry or a related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge or a willingness to learn technical aspects of vehicle maintenance is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling products or services effectively without being pushy.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers of varying knowledge levels.
- Experience handling cash transactions accurately and confidently managing point-of-sale systems is desirable.
- A friendly, professional demeanour with a genuine desire to assist customers and provide outstanding service.
