We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Waiting Staff to join our vibrant team in a fast-paced Full-Service Hotel environment. As Waiting Staff, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring that our guests have a memorable festive experience. Your responsibilities will encompass customer service, face to face interactions, serving food as part of the banquet service team, bar service, and maintaining a clean and organised front-of-house and back-of-house. You are an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our food & beverage experience. Your warm, personal attention and knowledge of our outstanding offerings makes guests feel unique and valued.

All applicants must be able to demonstrate fast adaptiveness as working between Bar, food service. Clearing on the floor including food, waste, and glass collections which will be a daily challenge for the team. Event shifts will run from 5 PM to 2 AM.

What you will be doing:

  • Greet and seat guests promptly upon arrival, providing a warm welcome and information about the event and running order.
  • Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way.
  • Follow the 5 / 10 Rule for all guest encounters.
  • Take accurate drink orders using the Zonal POS system.
  • Reconcile all payments to the penny, and excellent cash handling skills.
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently, ensuring that all items are presented beautifully and meet specification.
  • Assist in food preparation as needed, adhering to dish specifications and maintaining high standards of hygiene.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
  • Upsell larger and premium line beverages to enhance the guest experience while maximising revenue opportunities.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during busy periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables, function rooms and service stations throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication regarding orders and special requests.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for resolution to ensure satisfaction and elevating to leadership team where required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices to maintain a safe dining environment.
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience in a bar or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent time management skills to balance multiple tasks during peak service times.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when required.
  • Take immense pride in the hotel and service standards so the very best can be experienced by our guests.
  • Knowledge of cocktails is beneficial for assisting in bar tasks.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with guests effectively and provide outstanding service.
  • Strength and manual handling of function room furniture to rearrange quickly and comfortably.
