We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and professional Hotel Receptionist to join our friendly team at Mercure Bridgwater. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a vital role in ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout their stay.
Shifts are scheduled on a rota basis, covering early (6:00am – 2:30pm) and late (2:00pm – 10:30pm) shifts across 7 days.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in guests, ensuring a smooth and efficient arrival experience
Handle guest inquiries, both in person and over the phone/email
Process reservations, payments, and check-outs accurately
Assist guests with information about the hotel, local area, and available services
Liaise with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction
Handle any guest issues or complaints with professionalism and empathy
Maintain a tidy and presentable reception area at all times
About You:
Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Previous experience in a front-of-house or customer service role is desirable, but full training will be provided
Confident using computer systems; previous experience with hotel booking systems is an advantage
Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
A team player who can also work independently
