Job Description

Mercure & ibis London Earls Court and Barnaby’s Restaurant & Bar provide guests with a warm welcome, spacious and comfortable accommodation with breath‑taking views of the London skyline currently in the exciting process of a refurbishment with the aim to shift our hotel to a four-star hotel and new branding.

Our new goal is to find the right candidates to be part of this amazing project to help us during the evolution to become a modern, stylish and innovative 12‑storey hotel.

The hotel is about to undergo a very unique project resulting in a dual branding stylish and modern hotel with a combination of 3* and 4* product.

Position Overview

Handyman is skilled in a broad variety of household jobs.

She/he will be responsible for completing routine maintenance, undertaking repairs and tackling a range of other practical tasks.

Her/his duties can include form work, carpentry, and minor electrical and plumbing work.

Main Responsibilities

Duties

  • Regularly perform maintenance jobs and light repairs
  • Completing minor plumbing repairs such as fixing dripping taps or running toilet cisterns
  • Installing appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers
  • Fitting shelves, hanging pictures and installing window locks
  • Fill gaps and provide painting services
  • Perform lightning installation and carpeting
  • Repair equipment and various machines and appliances
  • Identify, document and report maintenance and repair work
  • Suggest additional repairs when identified and needed
  • Ability to resolve problems and adhere to health and safety guidelines
  • Ability to deal with other contractors or maintenance workers
  • Being resourceful and self‑motivated
  • Keep update with fire trainings and Healthy and safety procedures
  • Participate in workplace consultation on matters pertaining to Workplace Health and Safety, as per the hotels agreed arrangements.
  • Comply with safe work practices by following Accor Health, Safety and Environment policies, including the use of safe manual handling techniques, safe use of hazardous chemicals and machinery, working at heights procedures, using protective clothing and safety equipment where available and necessary, maintaining a clean, tidy work environment, and any other safety practice promoted and required by the Hotel
  • Assist guests in case of need with maintenance related‑issues
