Job Description

As our next Night Porter, you…

  • Are the ‘face of the Mercure White Hart Salisbury’, extending a warm welcome to our guests during the night, putting their well-being at the heart of everything you do, while adding your personal touch to their stay.
  • Assist in the general running of the hotel at night and support other departments to set up for the next day.
  • Are an autonomous and passionate individual, dedicated to continuously improving the quality of the hotel's services.
  • Undertake PMS end of day procedures and hotel safety checks to make sure everyone in our hotel is safe and looked after.
  • You should be confident in all aspects of guest relations, receiving and recognising all guests including those who require special attention.

Qualifications

  • Previous night porter experience or hotel host experience (desirable)
  • Customer service experience and working with the public (desirable)
  • Ability to work alone throughout the night
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to use your initiative and to follow written / verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of food safety & hygiene
  • Knowledge of general health & safety procedures
