We are seeking a diligent and skilled Maintenance Team Member to join our team. As our Maintenance Team Member, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel facilities are well-kept, safe, and operating efficiently. This role requires hands-on work with a variety of tasks, from routine preventative maintenance to addressing immediate repairs, creating a welcoming environment for both guests and staff.

Objectives of this role

  • Maintain the operational efficiency and appearance of hotel facilities and grounds
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Ensure the hotel is compliant with all health and safety regulations
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Work closely with the management team to identify and address repair needs

Responsibilities

  • Conduct repairs and routine maintenance on hotel facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and carpentry
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as inspecting building systems (e.g., electrical, heating, ventilation) and addressing minor issues before they become larger problems
  • Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all hotel equipment and systems are functioning properly and safely
  • Assist with maintaining the hotel’s exterior and landscaping to ensure a clean and welcoming environment
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and other departments to address repairs and maintenance needs
  • Document and report all maintenance tasks performed

Skills and qualifications

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with a background in general maintenance (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in hotel maintenance or a similar field
  • Certification in relevant trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
