Are you ready to grow into a leadership role within hotel night operations? We’re seeking a dependable and motivated Assistant Night Manager to support and deputise for our Night Manager, ensuring excellent service and operational standards are maintained throughout the night.
Role Overview
As Assistant Night Manager, you will support the Night Manager and help lead the overnight Front Office and hotel operations team. You’ll act as the senior person on duty two nights per week when the Night Manager is off, handling guest issues, team supervision, safety, and night audits. This role is ideal for experienced Night Auditors or Front Desk professionals ready for the next step.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Night Manager on their rest days, taking full responsibility for hotel operations overnight.
- Support the Night Manager in overseeing the night team, maintaining service excellence across all front desk functions.
- Perform and supervise the night audit, ensuring financial accuracy and preparing key reports.
- Manage guest arrivals, departures, requests, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Carry out nightly safety, security, and fire checks; report or address incidents as appropriate.
- Liaise with housekeeping and maintenance teams as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain clear handovers and reporting for the morning team.
- Uphold all health and safety, security, and brand standards throughout the shift.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a hotel night role (e.g. Night Auditor, Reception Supervisor).
- Strong leadership skills and confidence to take ownership of the shift.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and guest service skills.
- Sound knowledge of night audit procedures and hotel systems (training provided if needed).
- Calm under pressure, reliable, and professional at all times.
- Able to work overnight shifts including weekends and public holidays.
