Position: Audio Editor
Type: Independent Contractor
Compensation: $40–$60/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20–50 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Edit and mix dialogue, sound effects, and music for both short and long-form video content.
- Clean up raw audio by removing background noise, equalizing voices, and balancing levels.
- Sync sound precisely with visuals and transitions to maximize impact.
- Add SFX and ambient layers to enhance storytelling and realism.
- Collaborate with video editors and producers to ensure cohesive sound design.
- Maintain consistent loudness, tone, and quality across all content formats.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 3+ years of experience in audio editing, mixing, or sound design.
- Proficiency with Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, DaVinci Resolve Fairlight, or similar DAWs.
- A strong ear for detail, pacing, and emotion in sound.
- Understanding of music licensing, sound libraries, and audio effects.
Preferred
- Degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Film/Media Production, or similar.
- Experience designing audio for short-form, social, or branded content.
Compensation & Legal
