Job Overview

We are actively seeking a motivated and results-driven individual to join our growing network in a Freelance Recruiter position in United Kingdom, working fully remotely within the country. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an English-speaking recruitment professional to operate with genuine autonomy — managing your own candidate pipeline, building client relationships, and delivering placements across the dynamic Recruitment & Staffing industry. Whether you are an experienced recruiter looking for greater flexibility or an ambitious professional ready to launch your independent recruiting career, this role offers the freedom, support, and earning potential to thrive on your own terms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, identify, and engage high-quality candidates across a variety of roles within the Recruitment & Staffing sector using job boards, LinkedIn, social media, and your professional network.
  • Conduct thorough candidate screenings and interviews to assess suitability, motivation, and cultural fit for client requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with both candidates and hiring clients throughout the full recruitment lifecycle.
  • Manage end-to-end placement processes including job briefings, candidate submissions, interview coordination, offer management, and post-placement follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain an active talent pipeline of English-speaking professionals to meet ongoing and future staffing demands.
  • Collaborate with the wider Mercier Consultancy Group team to align on client briefs, market intelligence, and best recruitment practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring full compliance with GDPR and data protection standards.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the Mercier Consultancy Group portfolio of clients and candidates.

Requirements

  • Native or fluent English language proficiency — both spoken and written — is essential for this role.
  • Valid EU passport (mandatory requirement).
  • Prior experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, HR, or a closely related field within the Recruitment & Staffing industry is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with a high degree of organisation, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with candidates and clients alike.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other modern sourcing tools is a distinct advantage.

Benefits

  • Work Remote Worldwide — operate from anywhere within United Kingdom and enjoy a truly location-independent career.
  • Flexible Schedule — decide when you want to work and structure your day around your life, not the other way around.
  • Be Your Own Boss — run your own recruitment desk with the full backing and resources of Mercier Consultancy Group behind you.
  • High Commission Payouts per Successful Placement — your effort directly determines your earning potential.
  • Company Retreats & Team Meetups — connect with a vibrant, international community of recruitment professionals.
  • Access to a premium network of clients and candidates across the European Recruitment & Staffing market.
  • Ongoing professional development, mentorship, and support from an experienced senior team.
