Position Overview
Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice.
Department of Pharmacy Practice, Mercer University College of Pharmacy.
Primary Job Posting Location: Atlanta, GA 30341.
Tenure-track: 12-month, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor of Community Pharmacy Practice.
Contributes to Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum and community pharmacy practice.
Responsibilities
- Teach in the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum with a strong emphasis on community pharmacy practice, self-care, and patient-centered care.
- Play a key role in the College’s Integrated Patient Care (IPC) course series, including clinical skills and simulation-based education.
- Maintain a community pharmacy practice site in the Atlanta area.
- Develop and implement clinical pharmacy services within the community setting.
- Precept student pharmacists in experiential learning experiences focused on clinical service development and patient care innovation.
- Workload distribution: 45% teaching, 35% service (including clinical practice), and 20% scholarship.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.
- Eligible for pharmacist licensure in Georgia.
- Completion of a PGY-1 residency or equivalent community practice experience.
- Preferred: Board certification (BCACP or BCPS), experience providing clinical services in community pharmacy settings, and prior teaching or precepting experience.
