Join the Vehicle Performance Department as we take on the challenge of Formula One’s exciting new era of sustainable technical regulations.

About the Roles
The Vehicle Performance Department focuses on developing and applying world class simulation & modelling capabilities with the aim of maximising the performance/competitiveness of our Formula One car. You’ll collaborate with a diverse group of talented engineers, contributing to real performance projects, from advancing cutting-edge simulation tools to supporting race weekends in our driver-in-the-loop simulator.
We have several placements in this department:
- Vehicle Dynamics
- Vehicle Thermal Performance
- Tyre Group
- Simulator
- Simulation and Modelling
- Performance Simulation
The learning and experience in these roles will lay an excellent foundation for a wide range of potential career paths in Formula One. Previous IPs in the Performance Department have since progressed into race engineers, machine learning engineers and performance simulation engineers within the team.
Motorsport is not your typical 9-5 office job, as we support races all over the world in different time zones. In these roles you may have the opportunity to participate in race support from our Factory in Brackley.
Successful candidates will
- Have a strong background in an engineering discipline with excellent skills in Mathematics and Physics
- Have at least one year remaining on your current course or be enrolled on your next course* from the point at which you start your placement with us (Please note that if you will be enrolled on a Masters or PhD course you will need to be able to evidence enrolment to confirm eligibility)
- Take full ownership of their work, driving projects forward with initiative and independence
- Be adaptable, have a proactive mindset, a collaborative approach and thrive in a team environment
- Show determination and resilience when facing challenges
- Have keen attention to detail
- Possess an analytical and inquisitive approach
- Relish challenges and enjoy pushing for continuous improvement
