Join the Engineering Software Department as we take on the challenge of Formula One’s exciting new era of sustainable technical regulations.
By spending your year in industry with us, you will:
- Apply your learning in one of the most technically demanding global sports
- Take on responsibility as you are supported and trained throughout your year
- Join us for a year-long placement from the end of June 2026 to the end of July 2027
- Work in a fast-paced environment at our state-of-the-art factory in Brackley, United Kingdom
- Be an integral part of a cohort of students working across all functions of our team
Industrial Placement Role
As an Industrial Placement in Engineering Software, you will be involved in all aspects of the development, deployment and support of the off-car software stack, supporting the operation of the simulators, R&D facilities, and race cars. You will immerse yourself in remote operational support of events, providing real-time monitoring and ensuring robustness of the data production processes that support high-performance engineering decisions. You will also interface with stakeholders across the business to provide assistance, understand issues and feature requests, and work with the wider group to plan work going forward.
Successful candidates will
- Be pursuing a relevant degree in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline, with strong academic performance
- Have an awareness of .NET, Python
- Have an awareness of devops and deployment processes
- Have a passion about reaching their full potential and are excited about constantly learning; a passion for motorsport is an advantage
- Have at least one year remaining on your current course or be enrolled on your next course from the start of the placement (Masters or PhD candidates must evidence enrolment to confirm eligibility)
- Have flexibility in hours, enthusiasm to support F1 race weekend work, a ‘can do’, team-playing attitude and the ability to work to strict deadlines under minimal supervision
- Take full ownership of their work, driving projects forward with initiative and independence
- Relish challenges and enjoy pushing for continuous improvement
