Responsibilities
As an Industrial Placement in Car Build: The Car Build Department is responsible for the assembly of most major components that make up our race cars. As a key member of this team, you will directly support our various departments with a wide range of tasks. Your responsibilities will include:
- The design of components such as special tooling and parts packaging
- Servicing and calibration of department equipment (including interaction with outside suppliers)
- Car Build process development
- The auditing of various Build related documents
Successful candidates will
- Have a strong academic background in a Mechanical/Aero/Motorsports engineering discipline
- Be conversant with Solidworks, Siemens NX, Fusion 360 or similar design software
- Be confident communication skills
- Be comfortable with Excel, Word & Python
- Have at least one year remaining on your current course or be enrolled on your next course* from the point at which you start your placement with us (Please note that if you will be enrolled on a Masters or PhD course you will need to be able to evidence enrolment to confirm eligibility)
- Take full ownership of their work, driving projects forward with initiative and independence
- Be adaptable, have a proactive mindset, a collaborative approach and thrive in a team environment
- Show determination and resilience when facing challenges
- Have keen attention to detail
- Possess an analytical and inquisitive approach
- Relish challenges and enjoy pushing for continuous improvement
