About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Senior Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer in the Electronics Group.
Reporting to the Lead Electronics Installation Engineer you will be responsible for the design and delivery of bespoke electronics packaging across a range of projects.
Key Accountabilities (Duties):

Responsible for design and delivery of reliable, lightweight and cost affective bespoke packaging solutions for electronic designs including circuit boards and other electro-mechanical parts.

Collaborating with various design groups to deliver high reliability and innovative solutions to packaging challenges.

Managing, leading and developing a group of electro-mechanical engineers to produce work of a consistently high standard in alignment with Ads.

Working closely with PCB designers to package bespoke electronics.

Design of bespoke harnesses and harness enclosures using Dassault 3DX or similar CAD Package.

Understanding of materials and design techniques for different environmental conditions.

Ensuring that enclosures are designed to be IP rated as required by specification.

Reporting project and technical progress to stakeholders.

Ability to innovate technical packaging solutions.

Design of mounting brackets and cooling solutions for electrical units.

Peer checking groups designs.
Profile

Mechanical engineering degree (2.1 or better) or similar qualification.

5yrs+ experience in delivering electronics packaging solutions in a high-tech industry.

Experience leading and developing a group.

Communicative and collaborative skills to deliver effective cross departmental integration and results.

High attention to detail, working to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

A can-do attitude, proven ability to deliver.

Strong knowledge of composite design and manufacturing methods.

Strong knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing methods.

Familiar with Race Car Architecture including FOM & FIA Units.

Knowledge of different manufacturing methods.
