Mercedes-Benz has been setting the standard in racing for over 100 years, and the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team continues the proud history of the legendary Silver Arrows. We have an exciting opportunity at our Championship winning team within the Heritage department. As an integral part of a small team, this role is a fundamental pillar in preserving the history of our outstanding success. A vacancy has arisen for a Heritage Mechanic, reporting to the Heritage Operations Manager. You will work across multiple functions within our Formula One environment increasing your experience in building and supporting the department as we expand our heritage collection.
Key Accountabilities:
- Supporting Heritage car build operations
- Working meticulously in preparing and maintaining all Mercedes F1 cars to the highest standards.
- The desire to work and grow towards being a part of our trackside race team.
- To attend Mercedes Grand Prix events across all functions including TPC.
- To work efficiently and proactively.
- The ability to work with no supervision.
- Representing the company and our partners to the highest standards adhering to all policies.
- Willingness to work flexible hours at minimal notice to achieve deadlines.
- Willingness to work across specialist departments and digital areas to expand personal development.
- The ability to support future apprentices across theory and practical work.
Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience as a mechanic within a motorsport setting β F1, F2, Formula E, WEC etc.
- Good inter-personal skills & ability to communicate and work well within a team.
- Must be confident and outgoing and open in discussion.
- Must have a high drive and desire to succeed and work to the highest standards.
- Heritage operations will require you to show flexibility and willingness to learn on the job.
- Ability to continue learning and developing skill sets.
- Highly self-motivated to progress in all aspects of the role.
- This is a physically demanding position.
- The desire to expand on your current foundations to become the best in the industry.
- Must be willing to listen and adopt a professional working manner to the highest standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and I.T.
- The ability to interpret Engineer level drawings.
- Proficient in SAP systems.
