Requirements for the role:
- You must have an existing and valid right to work for the duration of the apprenticeship in the UK. Applicants who require a visa to work in the UK should be aware that our apprenticeships are ineligible for sponsorship.
- Availability to complete the level 3 apprenticeship up to a 42‑month duration.
- Evidence of having been resident in the UK for 3 years prior to taking up the apprenticeship in September this year or candidates who qualify for an exemption as stated here: Apprenticeship funding rules - GOV.UK
- At least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) with results of 5 and above. Please note that three of the GCSEs must be Maths, Science and English.
- Ability to be onsite five days per week, either at our factory in Brackley or at the apprenticeship learning provider (located in Milton Keynes or Coventry).
About the role:
We are seeking to employ an Engineering Apprentice to work within the fast‑paced environment of our Composite Machining Centre. The successful candidate will be part of a highly skilled team of engineers that will learn to set and operate machine tools to efficiently manufacture high complexity, high value, and precision engineered components for our Formula 1 cars. This Apprenticeship will take part at our Campus in Brackley, alongside additional learning at a Technical College.
Key Skills to be Developed:
- Trained to operate 5 axis CNC mills.
- You will learn to understand, interpret and manufacture to tight tolerances, from engineering drawings.
- Ability to use a wide range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
- Understanding manufacturing processes and sequences.
- Develop professional, positive relationships with all team members, with a focus on working collaboratively with all areas of the Composites Department.
- Safe working within general Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines with specific attention and working to Departmental Risk Assessments.
- You will work with a variety of high‑grade materials including, epoxy tooling block, aluminium, Titanium and Carbon Fibre.
- To develop manual skills for the final finishing of components.

- It would be advantageous but not required if one year of a Machining/Engineering College course has been completed and further advantageous to have work experience within a similar environment.
