The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
The Payroll Officer is responsible for producing and processing the payrolls at HPP monthly, ensuring they are done to a high standard (on time, in full with no errors). This includes all activities relating to and surrounding the monthly processing and annual activities.
In addition to payroll, this role is responsible for managing the HRIS systems in place, keeping them up to date and accurate at all times, including reporting to other departments such as finance.
- Process the Employee Monthly Payroll to a high level - expecting an accuracy rate of 98%+
- Manage all variable data: Starters / Leavers / Ad hoc requests
- Manage the payroll provider to ensure accuracy levels are maintained
- Post payroll reporting
- Tax Year End Processing: P60's, P11d's, Employer NIC contributions, Early Year Updates, Managing HMRC account
- Point of contact for employee queries on Pay
- Assisting with day-to-day support with benefits administration
- Ad Hoc reporting from the HRIS to support compensation & benefit activities
- Support if required - Process the Expat Payroll, Invoice tracking, Starters / Leavers, Tax Payments
- Support Payroll apprentice in tasks to ensure all required work is completed to the desired standard
- Responsible for the Gender Pay report figures
Be skilled at:
- Strong maths skills with an ability to spot numerical errors
- Communicating to others with varying levels of understanding
- IT skills, with an advanced knowledge of Excel
- Prioritising and owning projects to closure
Have experience of:
- Proven 5 years of work experience as a Payroll Officer or similar
- Managing a payroll for approx. 500 - 1,000 staff
- Hands-on experience with HRIS and Payroll software
- Using initiative to take ownership for their area of responsibility
Demonstrate knowledge of:
- Payroll processing
- Tax and tax year processing
- Statutory Payments & Reporting Requirements
- Labour Legislation
Organised and logical in approach, approachable, detail-conscious, proactive, and good at customer service.
