Overview
Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains offers a 12‑month Engineering Trainee – Manufacturing Engineering programme. The role provides exposure to the full manufacturing cycle of Formula1 powertrain components, from concept design to production.
Responsibilities
The trainee will:
- Design fixtures and tooling.
- Define the manufacturing process.
- Program machine tools and CAM.
- Investigate new equipment and processes.
- Refine existing production methods to improve quality, capacity and reduce cost.
- Provide innovative manufacturing solutions to complex engineering concepts.
- Work on real engine components under challenging deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Studying or holding a degree in Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline (minimum 2:1).
- Experience with CAD and CAM preferred.
- Strong grasp of engineering first principles.
- Resilient problem‑solving skills and technical analysis.
- Athletic, curious, highly motivated, able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Team player who can build relationships across manufacturing and the wider business.
- Adaptable and open to continuous improvement, willing to challenge existing methods.
