Responsibilities:

  • Build a foundational understanding of the F1 powertrain sub systems, a crucial first step in the career path to working trackside.
  • Be responsible for analysing data generated during testing of subcomponents of an F1 powertrain, using this data to assess their health and performance, and generate and distribute reports of these findings to the wider business.
  • Produce and develop the documentation required for running an F1 powertrain.
  • Proactively drive the improvement and evolution of the software used for testing.
  • Support and develop the sub systems hardware tests and data review to ensure that there are no failures at track.
  • Improve efficiency through updating of software tools and processes.
  • Interact closely with Product Engineering, Build and Programme Management to report directly to the Chief Engineer on the condition and suitability of the hardware and power units for their allocated usage.
  • Challenge and assist Product Engineering during failure investigation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Degree with 2:1 classification or above in a relevant subject (e.g. Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, Software etc.).
  • Proactive and engaging.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Determined, committed and decisive.
  • Performing critical review of data.
  • Conducting in-depth scrutiny under time pressure.
