Responsibilities
- Actively encourage and promote a positive H&S culture throughout the organisation by working pro-actively with managers and staff across all areas of the business.
- Investigate HSE incidents, identifying root causes and working with stakeholders to achieve timely and effective close-out.
- Create and deliver training sessions including inductions, toolbox talks, and specific HSE courses.
- Analyse HSE performance data to identify trends, opportunities and priorities for improvement.
- Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments, working in collaboration with process owners to assess levels of risk.
- Chair and contribute to HSE meetings and forums, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, including inspections, incidents and training logs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an HSE role within a fast-paced R&D/manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Educated to degree level ideally in a STEM subject or relevant topic area.
- Good working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation.
- Minimum NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and auditing management systems is a distinct advantage.
- Confident communicator able to influence at all levels of the organisation. Comfortable when presenting to a diverse audience.
- Good organisation & planning skills.
- Skilled in auditing, risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Accurate and attentive to detail, with a good standard of written English.
