The role is to develop a foundational understanding of F1 powertrain sub‑systems and support the analysis, documentation and software improvement necessary for trackside operations.
Responsibilities
- Build a foundational understanding of F1 powertrain sub‑systems.
- Analyze data generated during testing of sub‑components, assess their health and performance, and generate and distribute reports to the wider business.
- Produce and develop documentation required for running an F1 powertrain.
- Proactively drive the improvement and evolution of the testing software.
- Perform critical review of data and conduct in‑depth scrutiny under time pressure.
Qualifications
- Degree with 2:1 classification or above in a relevant subject (e.g. Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, Software, etc.).
- Proactive and engaging.
- Detail‑oriented.
- Determined, committed and decisive.
Success in This Role
- Support and develop sub‑systems hardware tests and data review to ensure there are no failures at track.
- Improve efficiency through updating of software tools and processes.
- Interact closely with Product Engineering, Build and Programme Management and report directly to the Chief Engineer on the condition and suitability of the hardware and PU’s for their allocated usage.
- Challenge and assist Product Engineering during failure investigation processes.
