Mercantile Barristers is a Barristers’ Chambers, based in the heart of Legal London, at Gray’s Inn.

Our members have established practices in traditional and commercial chancery work. Members particularly specialise in commercial litigation, company, construction, property, estates and sports law. Chambers provides full circle legal services on both contentious and non-contentious matters to businesses, professionals and high net worth individuals.

To assist with our increasing caseload and structured expansion we are looking for a Office Administrative Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis to provide administrative support in the overall management of Chambers.

Key Responsibilities

The role will include but not limited to the following:

· Assist in the efficient administrative operation of Chambers.

· Producing letters, emails and documents, including from dictation

· Diary management, ensuring appointments are accurately scheduled and catered for, this could include setting up telephone conferences or ensuring meeting rooms are booked for client visits.

· Assist in successfully converting inbound enquiries from prospective clients.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

· Previous work experience as in a law firm will be advantageous, but not essential.

· Proactivity, flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of matters in a busy environment

· Excellent written and oral communication skills with a clear speaking voice and a warm personality

· Excellent timekeeping

· Smart professional appearance, friendly manner, be very flexible, innovative and forward thinking.
