Mercado Medic is a well-established Swedish manufacturer with a 50-year history of designing and supplying modular, ergonomic disability seating. Our products help children and adults maintain independence at home, work, and school, and provide vital support in clinical settings. Following a period of sustained success, we are currently expanding our sales team. We are looking for a driven, self-motivated, and adaptive Sales Professional to join us and help us continue our mission of improving lives through high-quality, bespoke seating solutions.
We specialise in developing and manufacturing advanced, modular disability seating. Our core range includes manual and powered activity seating, indoor mobility solutions, and specialised clinical seating, such as X-ray and mammography chairs, designed to enhance posture, safety, and independence. Every chair is custom-built using our modular system of seat cushions, backrests, and various accessories, allowing us to tailor every product to the user's specific needs, size, and environment. We are proud of our Swedish heritage and our commitment to quality, ensuring that every solution provides reliable, long-term support for our clients.
The Role
This is a field-based role that requires a balance of independent client management and team collaboration. You will be expected to be present at our head office in Burton upon Trent for 1-3 days per week. For the remainder of the time, you will be in the field; this will involve travelling to client sites across your designated territory, which may occasionally include long distances and overnight stays. A company vehicle is provided to support your travel requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of technology, market trends, and customer needs, combined with the ability to drive commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Proactively generate new leads, identify business opportunities, and manage strategic outreach to potential clients to expand our reach.
- Client Engagement: Create and maintain customer interest, build strong relationships, and conduct professional assessments to recommend the correct, bespoke chair configurations.
- Sales Administration: Manage all sales administration, prepare proposals and presentations, and maintain accurate records through the sales process.
- Project Support: Support ongoing commercial activities, including close collaboration with the team.
- Networking & Events: Represent Mercado Medic at exhibitions and conferences. This includes the requirement to deliver product training and formal presentations to healthcare professionals.
About You
We are looking for a proactive professional who is highly self-motivated and can easily adapt to the diverse demands of the role.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar sales role is preferred. Experience in the disability, mobility, or medical device industry will be highly advantageous.
Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential. You must have good technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn our modular systems.
Approach: A professional attitude and the ability to build rapport with clinicians, occupational therapists, and end-users. You must be comfortable working both independently in the field and as an integral part of the team.
