Autodesk Forma Building Design is helping architects improve how they approach schematic design by giving design teams a cloud-based environment to explore building options, evaluate performance earlier, and continue into Revit with less friction. We are hiring a Technical Specialist to help customers understand, evaluate, and adopt Forma Building Design and other emerging Autodesk solutions. This role requires deep Autodesk AEC workflow fluency, strong Revit expertise, and the ability to connect technical capabilities to real design and business outcomes. The right candidate can engage credibly with architects, BIM/VDC leaders, design technology teams, and technical stakeholders. They will support technical discovery, product demonstrations, pilots, proofs of concept, and customer validation while helping customers understand how Forma can improve early design workflows and connect into their broader Autodesk ecosystem. We support hybrid or remote working and you will report to the Sr Manager, Emerging Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery with architecture, BIM, VDC, and design technology stakeholders.
- Demonstrate Forma Building Design and Forma Site Design in the context of real AEC workflows and customer use cases.
- Partner with Sales Specialists and Account Executives to qualify technical fit and adoption potential.
- Shape pilots, proofs of concept, and technical validation plans with clear success criteria.
- Translate customer workflow challenges into relevant product demonstrations and solution narratives.
- Build trust with technical users by understanding their tools, constraints, standards, and design processes.
- Capture product feedback, technical objections, workflow gaps, and adoption signals for Product and GTM teams.
- Support customers through evaluation, pilot execution, technical validation, and early adoption.
- Help internal teams understand what is required for successful Forma adoption in AEC accounts.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in AEC technology, technical sales, solutions consulting, BIM/VDC, design technology, architecture, or related technical roles.
- Deep working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AEC workflows.
- Ability to engage credibly with architects, BIM managers, design technology leaders, technical users, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of BIM workflows, model-based design, schematic design, documentation workflows, and design-to-delivery handoffs.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with sales, product, customer success, marketing, and technical teams.
- Ability to operate in a changing environment with evolving product capabilities, messaging, and customer requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Autodesk Forma, Dynamo, Insight, Rhino, Grasshopper, SketchUp, or adjacent AEC tools.
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into clear customer outcomes and business value.
- Background in architecture, computational design, BIM management, digital practice, VDC, or AEC consulting.
- Experience supporting customers through workflow change, pilot adoption, or new technology evaluation.
- Experience working with enterprise architecture, engineering, construction, or owner/operator accounts.
- Ability to identify technical blockers, adoption risks, and workflow gaps during customer evaluations.
