Meraki Talent are working with a leading Investment Management business to help them identify a Tax Manager – Retirement & Pensions. The business is going through a period of growth and as such this is a great time to join them and further develop your career. You will play a pivotal role in the tax function of their life business.
You will be responsible for managing the tax affairs of our life entities, ensuring compliance with UK tax legislation, supporting strategic decision-making, and contributing to business transformation projects. Some of your duties will include:
- Oversee accurate and timely submission of corporation tax returns, tax computations, and IFRS tax disclosures for life entities.
- Manage the Pillar 2, CbCR and other emerging reporting obligations.
- Provide tax input on transactions, reinsurance arrangements, product development, and capital management strategies.
- Collaborate with finance, actuarial, legal, and risk teams to deliver commercial and compliant tax solutions.
- Maintain strong tax risk management processes and documentation.
- Support internal controls testing and risk assurance procedures.
We are looking for:
- ACA, CTA, or equivalent tax qualification.
- Experience in UK life taxation, gained in-house or within a Big 4 or similar advisory environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of life company tax (e.g. BLAGAB, I-E, Solvency II, Pillar 2).
- Experience with IFRS and UK GAAP reporting.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and work cross-functionally.
- Commercial mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
