Job Description

Meraki Accountancy and Finance’s client based on the outskirts of Glasgow are looking to add a proactive and detail-oriented Stock Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with strong stock accounting experience and a passion for delivering accurate, insightful financial reporting. You’ll play a critical role in managing stock-related financial processes, contributing to the preparation of monthly management accounts, and supporting both the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles. You will also be responsible for ensuring robust balance sheet reconciliations, overseeing supplier payment runs, and assisting with the preparation of statutory year-end accounts.  Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accurate stock records across all systems and locations
  • Prepare and analyse stock valuations and adjustments in line with financial controls
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, with a focus on stock and cost of sales reporting
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, particularly stock valuation and purchasing trends
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including stock, accruals, and related accounts
  • Manage and review supplier payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate payments
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audit schedules
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and supply chain to ensure data integrity and alignment
