Meraki Talent are working with a global trading and risk management business to appoint a Finance Controller into their London-based entity. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the finance function for a UK-regulated company operating across physical and financial markets. The role offers significant autonomy, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the chance to shape finance operations in a growing and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of accounting, control, and reporting for the UK-regulated entity
- Preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP/IFRS
- Delivery of all regulatory reporting (FCA, HMRC, VAT)
- Oversee the audit process and ensure strong governance standards
- Develop and enhance internal control procedures and financial processes
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting cycles
- Support senior leadership with commercial analysis and performance insights
- Collaborate with international finance teams and shared service centres
- Line management and development of one finance team member
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in a regulated environment, preferably financial services
- Strong technical knowledge of UK statutory accounting and regulatory frameworks
- Track record of delivering accurate, timely reporting in a dynamic business
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
- Proactive mindset with excellent attention to detail and process improvement skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence across teams and geographies
