Meraki Talent is working with a well-established mid-tier CA firm that is continuing to grow its tax practice across Scotland.

The firm’s client base is broad and includes large corporates, listed businesses, international groups, and growing owner-managed companies. There is a wide variety of work with this position with a mix of advisory and compliance, but the firm is particularly keen to bring someone in who can take ownership of client relationships and drive forward project-based tax work. There is a high degree of flexibility for individuals who show a preference to advisory type work over compliance.

The firm is now looking to add an experienced Corporate Tax Senior Manager to the team in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. This is a key hire as part of their longer-term succession planning, and it would suit someone looking for a role that blends leadership, client delivery, and long-term progression. This position will concentrate on owner managed businesses working closely with the wider tax functions and Private client teams.

Key criteria:

  • CTA qualified (or equivalent), with strong technical knowledge and the ability to lead client engagements.
  • Provide technical tax advice on a range of topics including business reorganisations, exits, EOTs, MVLs, and family succession issues.
  • Manage a compliance portfolio of key OMB clients, reviewing the work of junior colleagues to ensure the clients' compliance needs are dealt with timeously and quality of service is maintained.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients providing excellent client service and identifying opportunities for further cross-sell opportunities across the wider business.
  • Stay abreast of tax changes and legislations and communicate changes to clients, colleagues, and train junior staff.
