Magnus Search are looking for a Technical Solutions Manager – Water Utilities to join a fantastic Global company with the purpose to develop and grow the company’s presence within the UK Water Utilities sector. For this role, we are accepting remote working candidates based all over the UK (the site location is Plymouth, Devon).

Working closely with senior leadership, this Technical Solutions Manager – Water Utilities role focuses on developing opportunities, supporting technical specifications, and strengthening relationships across the construction, municipal, and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will work with customers and internal teams to shape engineered solutions and guide opportunities from early engagement through to successful project outcomes, supporting business growth and sales generation.
As a Technical Solutions Manager – Water Utilities, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting strategic initiatives that contribute to market growth generation, sales performance, and business development
- Identifying and developing opportunities across construction, municipal, and industrial sectors
- Providing technical input during specification and proposal stages to support successful sales outcomes
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, consultants, and stakeholders
- Delivering technical presentations and solution-focused proposals to support commercial success
- Collaborating with engineering, marketing, customer service, and project teams
- Monitoring opportunity pipelines, sales activity, and contributing to forecasting and planning activities
- Ensuring effective use of CRM tools and maintaining strong QHSE and safety standards
- Travelling as required to support customer engagement, sales activity, and project delivery
To be successful in this Technical Solutions Manager – Water Utilities role you will need:
- Degree or qualification in an Engineering discipline
- Experience within the Utilities (as preference), civil Engineering, Drainage, construction industry or a related manufacturing environment
- Background in technical, commercial, or customer-facing engineering or sales roles
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commercial awareness with the ability to interpret performance and sales metrics
- Self-motivated with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical capability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Exposure to ERP systems, business-related qualifications, or knowledge of SIOP processes would be advantageous
