We are seeking a proactive and driven Stores Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Stores department. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on delivering operational excellence, maintaining accurate inventory control, and ensuring products are distributed efficiently and on time to customers. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving performance, improving processes, leading a high-performing team, and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the Stores team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance.
  • Oversee all inventory management, stock control and stock rotation activities, ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of materials across site.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of organisation, accuracy and operational control within the Stores function.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies, identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate closely with Production and Sales teams to coordinate shipping schedules and ensure customer orders are dispatched accurately and in line with On Time Delivery KPIs.
  • Monitor operational performance, analysing daily output data to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Drive lean manufacturing principles throughout the Stores operation, reducing waste and improving efficiency and champion continuous improvement initiatives, encouraging innovation and positive change across the department.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and operational standards.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions and annual appraisals to support employee development and engagement.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing stores, inventory or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of stock control processes, including FIFO principles.
  • Experience leading teams and driving operational performance improvements and confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across departments and strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability, experience implementing new processes, procedures or operational improvements.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Positive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
