About the Client

Our Client is an independent consultancy based in the Northeast. With over eight years of experience supporting blue‑chip clients such as Centrica, PX Group, Worley, United Living, Johnson Matthey, and WSP, we specialise in interim procurement and commercial support services. We represent clients in strategic supply chain and procurement activities across the UK and the Middle East.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding and identifying the client's key strategic requirements
  • Developing project‑specific contracting strategies and vendor engagement plans
  • Work with the procurement team to assist in setting the pre‑qualification process criteria
  • Support engineering capital projects in sectors such as chemicals, oil & gas, energy, pharma, or civil engineering
  • Provide commercial and QS support to live projects, including procurement of major subcontract packages or works contract packages such as civil works, Mechanical & Electrical Installation, etc.
  • Post‑contract commercial management: managing live project costs, monitoring, variation management and payment of subcontract packages, monthly cost and end‑life forecasting and reporting, compilation and management of variations, contract negotiations
  • Utilise NEC4, IChemE contract development for negotiating and compiling contract T&C's
  • Good understanding of major project commercial strategies and best practice processes
  • RICS qualification desirable but not essential

Work Arrangement

This role offers hybrid working. The role holder will be required to work from office or site for 3 days per week.

Remuneration Package

  • Basic Salary: Circa £35‑45,000 per annum (Reviewed annually)
  • Annual Performance Bonus
  • Employer Pension
  • Holiday Entitlement: 20 days + 8 public holidays (28 days total)
  • Continuous Professional Development (Fully supportive of CIPS and RICS qualifications if not already held)
