We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our manufacturing team in Peterborough. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for the assembly, maintenance and repair of specialist industrial equipment within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Working alongside experienced engineers and technicians, you’ll play an important role in ensuring equipment is built, maintained and operating to the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, maintain and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Carry out refurbishment, fabrication and modification work where required.
  • Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings accurately.
  • Work with PVC and stainless-steel pipework, valves and fittings.
  • Calibrate and validate instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with fitters, fabricators, welders and electricians on larger projects.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and workshop organisation standards.
  • Follow Health, Safety and Environmental procedures at all times.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including LEAN and KAIZEN activities.
  • Attend training sessions, toolbox talks and team meetings.
  • Support overtime requirements when needed.
Persons Specifications
  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly or fitting.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Experience working within an industrial manufacturing or maintenance environment.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and quality standards.
  • Confident using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • MIG and/or TIG welding experience or certification (Desirable).
  • Experience working with industrial treatment or processing systems (Desirable).
