We are looking for a driven and hands-on Depot Manager from an FMCG, warehouse or production background to take ownership of a fast-paced, 24/7 operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role where you can truly make a difference—driving performance, leading teams and shaping operational excellence.

As Depot Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy distribution site, leading from the front to ensure smooth, efficient and high-quality operations. You will oversee all inbound and outbound activities, optimise performance and continuously improve processes, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and customer service.

This is a role for someone who thrives on challenge, enjoys building high-performing teams and is passionate about delivering results in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

Persons Specification

  • Proven experience in a warehouse or production management role
  • Experience of leading and managing teams
  • Ability to work on your own initiative in a fast-paced, pressurised environment
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Tenacious, driven and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Confident, highly organised, with strong problem-solving abilities
  • A strong advocate of Health, Safety and Quality standards on site
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a changing environment
  • Experience working with automated machinery would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency to meet site KPIs set by operational management
  • Work closely with SHEQ to ensure all standards and legal requirements are met and maintained
  • Develop and improve operational systems by identifying and implementing best practice across all processes
  • Ensure all staff are fully trained to carry out activities safely and achieve performance targets
  • Manage company assets, including stock control, stock rotation, and minimising losses and damages
  • Carry out regular inspections of equipment, tools and machinery, and oversee both scheduled and reactive maintenance
  • Meet regularly with shift leaders and technicians to review performance, analyse data and implement improvement plans
  • Manage third-party suppliers and contractors, including procurement and cost negotiation
