An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality & Health & Safety Manager to join a leading manufacturing business. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement across the site.
Reporting into senior management, you will lead the development and implementation of robust Quality and Health & Safety systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements and legislative obligations. You will play a key role in shaping site strategy, improving operational performance and embedding best practice across all departments.
This role would suit a proactive and influential leader who is passionate about quality, safety and operational excellence, with the ability to engage teams and drive sustainable improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Management
- Develop, implement and maintain Quality Management Systems, procedures and standards, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and industry requirements.
- Lead customer complaint investigations, root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions, managing issues through to resolution.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation to support product quality, compliance and customer requirements.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives, monitor KPIs and support 'right first time' manufacturing performance.
- Health & Safety
- Develop and implement Health & Safety policies, procedures and programmes to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
- Promote a positive safety culture through leadership, training, inductions and employee engagement.
- Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain risk assessments, safe systems of work and safety documentation while driving continuous safety improvements.
- Audits & Compliance
- Manage internal, external, customer and supplier audits, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and management systems.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and support quality-related dispute resolution where required.
- Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, develop and motivate the Quality and Health & Safety team through coaching, performance management and development activities.
- Collaborate with operational teams to identify and implement process improvements that support wider business objectives.
- Drive site-wide quality, safety and continuous improvement programmes, promoting accountability and best practice across all departments.
- Proven experience in a Quality and/or Health & Safety leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO standards and UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience managing audits, customer complaints, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership, people management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Multi-site manufacturing experience desirable.
- Relevant Quality and/or Health & Safety qualifications.
- Salary: £52k (DOE)
