Take the lead in shaping a high-performance hygiene and safety culture across the site. This role goes beyond routine compliance; it's about driving excellence, influencing standards, and making a visible impact on product quality and workplace safety. You will champion best practices, elevate cleaning and sanitation systems, and play a key role in ensuring the site is always audit-ready and operating at the highest level.

Working at the heart of operations, you’ll collaborate with teams, lead from the front, and continuously push for smarter, safer, and more efficient ways of working. Core Responsibilities:
  • Oversee site-wide hygiene standards through regular audits, inspections, and verification activities.
  • Ensure all sanitation practices meet current legislation, industry standards, and internal procedures.
  • Act as the point of contact for hygiene compliance during internal and external audits.
  • Design, implement, and refine cleaning schedules, procedures, and records.
  • Carry out risk assessments and develop practical, effective cleaning methods based on findings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, ensuring full traceability and sign-off compliance.
  • Lead hygiene operatives by setting clear expectations on performance, safety, and PPE compliance.
  • Deliver training and coaching to ensure all team members understand and follow procedures correctly.
  • Encourage strong communication and teamwork across all levels of staff.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by ensuring all tasks are carried out in line with health and food safety regulations.
  • Identify workplace hazards and ensure staff are informed and protected.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective and preventative measures.
  • Monitor and control the use of cleaning chemicals and consumables to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Ensure all waste materials are handled and disposed of safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor the site for any signs of pest activity and escalate issues promptly to the relevant service provider.
  • Support and participate in customer visits and third-party audits, ensuring all hygiene and pest control records are audit-ready.
  • Manage team performance, ensuring high standards of behaviour and accountability are consistently met.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in hygiene practices, safety standards, and operational efficiency.
Skills:
  • Strong experience managing hygiene teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of owning or influencing hygiene and food safety standards within a site.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence across multiple departments.
  • Confident in driving performance, standards, and continuous improvement.
  • FMCG or food manufacturing experience is essential.
